dc.description.abstractPreface signed by William Penn. This preface was later reprinted under the title: A brief account of the rise and progress of the people called Quakers. Edition statement transposed precedes "In two volumes." on title page. Pagination: v. 1, lxxviii, 440, [2] p. v. 2, 464, [16] p. Pages lvii-lxxvi of v. 1 have testimonies by Margaret Fox, by some of the author's relations, by the Monthly Meeting of Friends in London, 1690, and by Thomas Ellwood. Pages lxxvii-lxxviii of v. 1 contain: Fox, George. The appearance of the Lord's everlasting truth breaking forth again in his eternal power in this our day and age in England.
