This is a facsimile and transcription of Dictionnaire typographique : historique et critique des livres rares, singuliers, estimés et recherchés en tous genres, concentrating on the Preface, the 'Avertissment' and the section for the first 40 items listed in volume 1. It is held by Taylor Institution Library (shelf mark U.N.S.168.H.17). The transcription was encoded in TEI P5 XML by Angéline Rais. In the preface, ‘Avertissement’ and Osmont’s comments on the books listed, the spellings have been normalised spelling (long ʃ and normal s to s; u/v; i/j/y; use of accents with letters ‘a’ and ‘e’), interpunction, dash, and the use of capitals. Abbreviations and unclear readings have also been resolved. Abbreviations and the use of capitals in the titles of the books listed in the main part of the work have been retained. The signs [?] are used when an abbreviation could not be resolved.
