Description
This dataset contains annotations of preverbed motion verbs in Ancient Greek and Latin. It is based on the combination of eight motion verbs and sixteen preverbs for each language. The annotation includes multiple layers of information – morphological, syntactic, semantic, geographical, and textual metadata – for each occurrence. Each annotated instance is also linked to external resources including Perseus, the PHI database, and the World Historical Gazetteer (WHG). All annotations were conducted manually by the author following the guidelines set out in Farina (2024). The source texts used for annotation were taken from the Perseus Digital Library, except for Ennius’ Annales, which were sourced from the PHI Latin Texts. Reference: Farina, Andrea. 2024.
