dc.description.abstractIn verse. The words "a præsage .. Pr. Charles." are enclosed in brackets on title page. Printer's name from STC. The first work is a translation by Sylvester of: Bertaut, Jean. Panarète. "Bethulians rescue" and "Little Bartas", translations by Sylvester of poems by Guillaume de Salluste du Bartas, both have separate divisional title pages, the first dated 1614. "Micro-cosmo-graphia .. from Latin Saphiks of .. Mr. Hen. Smith", a translation by Sylvester of "Vita supplicium", and "Lachrymæ lachrymarum" and "An elegiac-epistle consolatorie", original works by Sylvester, each have separate divisional title pages. Pagination and register are continuous throughout. Reproduction of the original in the British Library.
