dc.description.abstractAttributed to Elihu Palmer in the Dictionary of American biography. Error in paging: p. 37 misnumbered 57. Thoughts on the Christian religion -- Remarks on the publications which have appeared in oppostion [sic] to The age of reason -- The age of infidelity, by a layman, is the next in the order of attack against the fatal blow to fanaticism and priestcraft, The age of reason -- A guide to reason, by Samuel Stillwell, is the fourth assault upon the "fortress of deism." -- The New-York reviewer -- Vindication of our author's character and writings, in answer to an anonymous publication in a Philadelphia paper -- The address by the Reverend Uzal Ogden ... acompanying his proposals for printing "The deist unmasked," ... is the last and most violent invective that has yet been published against the immortal work, entitled, "The age of reason."
