dc.description.abstractRunning title: Memoirs of the Queen of France. Attributed to Pierre Étienne Auguste Goupil by Forrest Bowe in a letter to the American Antiquarian Society, Dec. 26, 1952. The first, third, and fourth plates are signed: N. Pigalle, sculpt., [John] Scoles, sculp., and Benjamin Tanner, sc. respectively. The second, fifth, and sixth plates are unsigned. Pigalle, Scoles and Tanner were all active in New York City in 1794. "Trial of Marie Antoinette, cidevant Queen of France."--p. [131]-143.
