dc.description.abstractPrinters' device on t.p. (McK. 227) initials, headpiece. Epistle dedicatory signed: Edward Blount. Author's dedication signed: Fr. Juan, de Sancta Maria. Translated by James Mabbe, but sometimes attributed to Edward Blount. Leaves A6, D7, H4, I6 and R6 are cancels. There also appears to have been another leaf inserted before the title page [par.]2 and before leaf [par.]8, but this has been removed except for a fragment which remains in the spinal fold. The volume also contains words in the text which have been pasted over with printed text containing revised words. On leaf A8 recto, line 12: "towres" leaf B4 verso, line 28: "kings" leaf C1 verso, last line: "porters" leaf D2 verso, line 19: "quatro ojos". Page 373 misnumbered "375" and p. 421 misnumbered "401". Signatures: [par.]⁸ A² A-Gg⁸ Hh² (first and last leaves blank). Reproduction of original in: National Library of Scotland.
